The Hidden Heroes At Melon Media - Oxford Niu

OxfordFor the past two years Melon Media has regularly had an intern stationed in the office (sometimes two!) and we have constantly been impressed by their willingness and dedication to learn. We throw them straight into the deep end (no tea & coffee runs) to give them a real-world understanding of what the digital marketing industry is like.

Coming from both Australia (work-experience as part of their studies) and overseas, the mutual benefits gained from this program will see us continue to take on and teach the eager young poppets.

Oxford has recently completed his work experience with us and we wish him all the best as he continues with his studies!

But before he left we asked him a few quick questions which we'd like to share with you...

  1. Tell us a little bit about your background and what brought you to Australia.
I have been to Australia for almost 4 years. I came here just for study, but I was completely attracted by the beautiful weather and the lovely temperature here. So, now I'm doing my best to stay in Australia.
  2. What does your role entail at Melon?
I'm the only intern in the office. So, I'm mining the knowledge from everyone.
  3. What is your favourite thing about working at Melon?
The people here are friendly and easy-going, that's the best part here. Also, I like my current task, developing a mobile website.
  4. What do you hope to be working on in the future?
I'm working as a mobile web developer here and probably I will keep working in this area for the next 5 years. I really like this area, since I feel it will develop rapidly.
  5. Tell us about the craziest thing that has happened to you since being in Australia.
I attended a social activity called "MEN RETREAT" with my friends from my Bible study group. We did a 10 hour (maybe more than that) bush walk. At the end of that day, I couldn't even move my legs. And if there was a tent, I would definitely have slept in the forest.
  6. Where would you most like to travel to and why?
WOW. You got me. I'm afraid I do not quite like travelling. But I have recommended Opera House to most of my Chinese friends.
